The San Francisco neighbourhood of Fillmore was once known as the "Harlem of the West." It served as a hub for Black culture and life, with everything from renowned jazz clubs to Black-owned restaurants, stores, and businesses.

The Fillmore of today is unrecognizable. For years, homeless tent encampments, open drug use, and violence have contributed to increased street tension and violence.
