The United Negro College Fund has announced it has raised $9 million during its “March Madness” fundraising season to support historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

The UNCF holds annual galas and masked balls during the month of March to raise public awareness of the importance of supporting HBCU students and generating large corporate and individual donations.

The events were held on March 4, 9, 11, 16 and 18. Other gala dates were also held on March 23, 25, and 31.
