Blavity Inc. has announced it has acquired RNB House Party, a Black-owned production and event management company. It will work with the RNB House Party to deliver Blavity Media Group’s first music festival in 2024.

“We are thrilled to welcome RNB House Party into the Blavity Media Group family,” Mike Hadgis, chief revenue officer at Blavity Inc., said in a statement. “This acquisition expands our experiential portfolio and aligns with our dedication to fostering authentic connections within the community.”

The milestone announcement is big for RNB House Party, which will have an opportunity to scale and partner with innovative brands to extend its offerings. Charles Beloved Kuykendoll, founder of the company, discussed the achievement in an Instagram post.

“Well God, I didn’t know exactly what you had in mind for me when I got laid off on June 28th, but thank you…,” he said. “When I created the first RNBHouseParty in college at the Alpha house, I knew it was special. When (my wife) @miss_deme pushed me to step out on faith and do it in NYC in 2016, it was clear from the first party with 75 of y’all, that this experience was different. From there, my brother (Kareem J. Edwards) joined me, and we set out to build the most dynamic church-like club experience of all time, but what we really did was build a community!”

RNB House Party founder Charles Kuykendoll will also join the company as general manager of community at Blavity Inc.

Other upcoming events on Blavity’s slate include this year’s Blavity Grammy’s House Party, NBA All-Star Weekend and an HBCU Homecoming House Party.

Morgan DeBaun, Blavity Inc. founder and CEO, said, “We are entering a new phase of growth and innovation within our Blavity Media Group division. The acquisition of RNB House Party marks a pivotal step in our journey to provide impactful experiences and leverage the scale of our reach to bring our audience together in person.”
