Black-owned Victor George (VG) Spirits has announced it will expand throughout Florida at 36 Total Wine & More stores.

“We are thrilled with our expansion to all Total Wine & More stores throughout the state of Florida. This gives current consumers, who support and enjoy our brands as well as new consumers a place they know they can find it on shelves. We look forward to future growth and thank our customers, retailers, and our distributor, Breakthru Beverage for their support in helping us grow our Victor George Spirits portfolio in Florida and nationwide,” Victor Harvey, founder of Victor George Spirits, said.

Currently distributed in 45 states, the company’s brands include Victor George Vodka, the award-winning Fort Mose’ 1738 Bourbon and Victor George Caramel Vodka. It released its first flavoured vodka in January.

“We saw a need for something new in this part of the flavored vodka category,” Jolyn Harvey, V.P. of marketing at VG Vodka, said in a statement. “With the re-emergence of the espresso martini which is now the number one selling cocktail in the world, our caramel vodka fills this void and adds something new, exciting, and much more flavorful to drink menus as opposed to the typical recipes.”

Victor George Spirits was founded in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Additionally, its Fort Mose’ 1738 Bourbon brand is named after the state town, established in 1738 just two miles north of St Augustine, Florida. It was reportedly the first settlement and town where Black people were allowed to live free, a statement reads.

A ceremonial groundbreaking is expected at the Victory Building on Sistrunk Boulevard this fall, which will become Fort Lauderdale’s first Black-owned distillery to commemorate the site. Victor George Spirits was awarded $2.4 million in 2021 to build the 15,000-square-foot facility and rooftop bar.
