A Black-owned transportation company is thriving in Charlotte since its founding in 2020, according to QCityMetro.

After receiving support from Malcomb Coley, a managing partner at Ernst & Young, Myles McGregor started a car service during the pandemic. Now he’s built a team of seven drivers and six vehicles.

And thanks to referrals from Coley, his company, Charlotte Immaculate, transports the city’s top executives at Ernst & Young, Lowes, Bank of America, and Falfurrias Capital Partners.

“My referrals are a reflection of me,” Coley told QCity Metro. “I refer him to my closest confidants, my closest friends, my closest colleagues, my closest peers in the community because I know he’s accountable. I don’t have to worry.”

To test him, Coley sent McGregor on a trip to pick up a few hundred bottles of wine for him — approximately $100,000 worth, according to QCity Metro. He passed with flying colours, and the referrals came pouring in.

“I got a call from Malcomb, and he asked me to pick up a friend of his,” McGregor told QCity Metro. “He didn’t even say who it was until he texted me the name and the address.”

It turned out to be Hugh McColl, the former chairman and CEO of Bank of America. McGregor took McColl and his wife to a foundation dinner.

Today, he’s his personal driver, according to QCityMetro.

The opportunity has created a line for McGregor and his team, which is looking to expand its presence beyond the Charlotte area.

An avid music lover, he’s hoping to also build the business in a way that would allow him to pursue his dream of becoming a musician, according to QCityMetro.
