OneUnited Bank, the largest Black-owned bank in the U.S., has announced a collaboration with Marvel Comics and Visa to create a custom comic book to teach kids about financial literacy.

The book will feature characters including the Black Panther and Shuri and serve as a memento for its 13th annual "I Got Bank!" National Financial Literacy Contest.

"We are excited to collaborate with Marvel Comics and Visa to promote financial literacy. Our contest, free e-book, and now this new comic book make it easy for families to teach their children how to save and make financial literacy a core value in the Black community!" Teri Williams, OneUnited Bank president, said in a statement.

In celebration of National Superhero Day, created in 1995, the bank will be providing 500 free comic books at its branches in Boston (Grove Hall), Miami, Los Angeles, and Compton.

Furthermore, the 13th Annual "I Got Bank!" National Financial Literacy Contest will see 10 children compete to win a $1,000 savings account, according to a statement.

Students from across the country between the ages of eight and 12 will have to read a financial literacy book of their choosing and either write a 250-word essay or create an art project to show how they would apply what they learned from the book to their daily lives.

Submissions will be accepted until June 30, and the winners will be chosen on August 31.
